In English:
The imposing Pyrgos – the Tower – is located in the harbour area among the little coves and bays of the Ai-Giorgi coastline, just 1.5km from the port of the island of Ammouliani, with wonderful views of Ouranoupolis and the peaks of Mt. Athos.
Arround the tower are seven rooms and two apartments, set in lush gardens extending right down to the water’s edge. It offers warm hospitality in a family atmosphere and holidays in an unspoiled natural setting.
Work on the tower began in the mid-1970’s, a family affair built entirely by Damianos Tsikos, with the dedicated support of his family and all those friends whose passion and enthusiasm is recorded in every stone of the building.
The tower bears witness to its own history: the tale of one man’s dream of a unique, original holiday home, a home which he then wished to share with as many people as possible, bringing ever more guests as the tale of the tower continues…
The original and imaginative building (cylindrical in structure, and with three stories) was founded on the site of a carefully protected well, once the property of a monastery.
All along the coast from the grounds of the tower to the beach at Aghios Georgios, a stretch of about 500m, you will find tiny secluded coves where you can swim or fish in absolute privacy.
Unforgettable, glorious sunsets … and people of remarkable hospitality, joie de vivre and energy, ready to entertain you through the night at the festival of 15th August, a major event in the tower’s calendar!
The Tower officially opens to guests for the summer season in May and closes for the winter in October.
