In the hinterland of Koper and in the heart of Slovenian Istria lies a small clustered village called PuÄe, known for friendly people, the church dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, but also for water springs, cycling tracks and exciting footpaths. The road through the village leads to a “porton” (or gate) which opens into a spacious “kurta” (or courtyard) of the tourist farm TONIN, a newly renovated farm made of Istrian stone. The inside area can seat up to 50 guests and is suitable for special occasions, such as wedding receptions, confirmations, and business meetings. The place is air-conditioned and equipped with a TV and a projection screen. In addition, seating for up to 60 people is provided in the idyllic garden. The farm boasts a long tradition of viticulture and olive growing but we also grow spelt, as well as various field crops and vegetables which we use for our homemade Istrian dishes. Our offer includes: homemade air-dried ham or prosciutto, sausages, bacon, pickled eggplant and courgettes, wild asparagus, a typical Istrian soup with young corn called “bobići”, meat dishes baked “izpod peke” (meat placed under a metal lid which is then covered with hot embers and slowly baked), seasonal vegetables and fruit, and the house speciality - pancakes with figs. You can choose from our selection of homemade white and red wines: Malvasia, Refosco, and MaloÄrn. Of course, you are also more than welcome to lend a helping hand on the farm.
